Technical Operator Training – Part 1

Target Audience

This course was developed to enable machine operators with little or no technical background to carry out basic asset care.

Technical Operator Training – Part 2

Target Audience

This course was developed to enable machine operators with little or no technical background to carry out basic asset care and continues on from the Technical Operator Part 1 programme

Content

The course will cover mechanical theory, practical tasks and a series of competence assessments.

• Production of sheet steel component using hacksaw and file
• Use of drilling machine to produce holes
• Tapping threads
• Blind riveting
• Basic theory of pneumatics
• Basic pneumatic components
• The effect of changing the flow rate and pressure on circuits
• Pressure and flow regulators
• Boyles Law
• Similarities and differences between pneumatics and hydraulics
• Different types of valves and methods of operation
• Valve components
• Valve identification and practical inspection
• Building and operating pneumatic circuits
• Basic fault finding
