BS 7671 : 2008 – 17th Edition
Wiring Regulations
BS 76 71, The IEE Wiring Regulations, is the British
Standard to which
all domestic, commercial and industrial electrical
installations must
comply.
The Regulations have been updated and BS 7671: 2008
requirements
for Electrical Installations (17th Edition) was introduced
in
February 2008 , coming into full effect on 1 July 2008. From
this date
all domestic, commercial and industrial electrical
installations must be
designed, constructed and inspected and tested to comply
with the
requirements of BS7671:2008.
The 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations is a long overdue
update on
the 16th Edition Wiring Regulations which has been in effect
since 1991.
In order to align with European standards, the 17th edition
contains
some substantial changes, to both structure, chapter
numbering
system and technical content, over the previous edition.
