GUIDELINE TO PROGRAMMES FOR INSPECTION, TESTING OF
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS
Two courses are now available:-
City & Guilds 2392-10 NEW COURSE
Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial
Verification of Electrical Installations
City & Guilds 2391-10
Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of
Electrical Installations
Traditionally, many less experienced electrical candidates
have found the jump to 2391-10 a step too far. A recent City &
Guilds / NICEIC seminar recently stated that the pass rate for
this examination was anywhere between 25 & 35% only. Feedback
has suggested that a feeder qualification is necessary to help
those who are less experienced obtain the full inspection and
testing qualification, hence the new award the 2392-10
This new programme will be focused on the teaching and learning
of fundamental initial verification. Periodic inspection
requires a different set of skills to initial verification and
there is now a requirement for two different qualifications that
assesses the individuals abilities in both disciplines. There
will be no periodic inspection in the 2392 – 10
After achievement and on-site experience, delegates can proceed
to the full award, the Certificate in Inspection, Testing and
Certification of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391-10)
