Level 1 - Basic
Obectives: The delegate after instruction will have a knowledge and understanding of:-
The Health and Safety requirements when
working with compressed air.
Duties of employers and employees.
Preparation of air, the need to dry, filter, regulate and
lubricate if necessary.
The operation, construction and maintenance of linear actuators.
The cushioning feature of single and double actuating cylinders.
The operation and use of basic directional control valves with
their associated methods of actuation.
Methods of speed control.
Basic compressed air symbols and circuits.
Constructing simple circuits from drawings to operate as
required.
Working safely and effectively at all times.
Duration : One day
Certification : An IPB Training Certificate
Level 2 - Intermediate
Objectives:
The delegate after instruction will have a knowledge and
understanding of:-
The Health and Safety requirements when working with
compressed air.
Air compressors and effective air distribution methods. Use
of nomograms to obtain airflow rates and pipe sizes.
Symbols used in pneumatic drawings and port recognition.
Methods of incorporating time delay.
Logic devices used in pneumatic circuits.
Construction and operation of multi cylinder circuits to
incorporate sequence and cascade circuits.
Meter in and meter out methods of cylinder control.
Draw and construct a circuit for a given task.
